History
Frigorífico Merlo was founded in 1986. With 220,000 m2 is located in the town of Agustín Ferrari, Merlo, Buenos Aires Province. This is a strategic location due to the proximity to the port and routes which connect to the interior of the country.
The plant count with corrals for 3,000 cattle and a production line equipped for the slaughter of 100 animals per hour, reaching 18,000 heads per month. It has 8 coolers, with capacity for 3,700 half head of cattle, 2 storehouses for 80 tons of vacuum-packed cuts, and 3 freezers for 50 tons.

Quality
RAW MATERIAL
The quality of our products is guaranteed by the suitability of our people in the purchase process of the standing farm. Our buyers have many years of experience in the acquisition of raw materials. The selection is made between animals of British breeds such as Hereford and Aberdeen Angus raised in the Pampa Húmeda (Province of Buenos Aires, south of Santa Fe, south of Córdoba and north of La Pampa) where feeding is based on pasture, which provides animals with low percentage of fat, soft fiber, low cholesterol and unique flavor.
TRACEABILITY
Through a traceability system that accompanies the entire production chain, each of the cuts of meat can be monitored backwards through the detailed data on its labeling, identifying shipment details , type and origin of the animal , slaughtering , production and expiration date, among others. This system allows a complete production control.
CERTIFIED QUALITY THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS
Each sections of the main production process is audited and controlled to meet the highest quality standards. From the reception to the sealing, labeling and cooling of cuts, an exhaustive control is carried out by the Quality Control Area and the direct inspection of SENASA.
The Analysis of Hazards and Critical Control Points (HACCP or Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) is used as a fundamental tool to guarantee the innocuousness of the final products and therefore the protection of the consumer`s health. This system is based on the previous study of the hazards that are generated in each stage of the elaboration process and later on implement preventive and corrective measures in order to eliminate or minimize those hazards to achieve an acceptable level, to comply with GAP (good agricultural practices: adequate use of pesticides and veterinary drugs), GMP (good manufacturing practices) and POES (sanitation operational programs: including cleaning, disinfection and control)
The plant is approved by regulatory authorities to develop and distribute products both local and internationally.
